Building new worlds and erasing stereo-types
Cost and the lack of diverse stories rules the current entertainment landscape. Telling the same story over and over again with A list actors is the current model for Hollywood based films. Have you noticed the number of remakes that are being produced? If a minority-based film makes it through, its mostly likely based on stereotypical characters that mainstream society feels comfortable watching. There’s a need for strong story telling about diverse people and cultures. Good stories will always be watched if the film can reach its audience. Enter Cool Oz Productions.

We’re on a journey to make our first feature film. We’re searching for our target audience and we thought interviewing independent filmmakers that have already made their first feature film would be helpful to us, as well as other filmmakers embarking on the same journey. We want to start a two way conversation with other filmmakers and hopefully find our audience on the way. We’re interested in hearing what you have to say. We’re also documenting our journey through a monthly newsletter. Follow us as we step closer to completing our first feature film.
